Level 1
This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainee who completes the Program will be qualified to work as an Automotive Mechanic Level I with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualifications to work in the Economic Infrastructure in the field of Automotive Technology. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Use Tools, Equipment, and Measuring Instruments,
- Interpret Working Drawings and Sketches,
- Perform Bench Work,
- Apply Automotive Mechanical System Fundamentals,
- Apply Automotive Electrical System Fundamentals,
- Test, Charge, and Replace Batteries,
- Perform Periodic Service,
- Carry out Service Tires and Wheel Balance, and
- Apply 5S procedures
by the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 2
This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainee who completed the Program will be qualified to work as an Automotive Mechanic Level-II with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualifications to work in the Economic Infrastructure in the field of Automotive Technology. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Service Engine and associated System Assemblies,
- Service two and three-wheeler vehicle Assemblies,
- Perform minor Engine Electrical Systems Services,
- Read and interpret Machine drawings,
- Service power train system,
- Perform minor under-Chassis Systems service,
- Carry out Wheel Alignment, and
- Prevent and Eliminate MUDA
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 3
This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainee who completed the Program will be qualified to work as an Automotive Mechanics Level III with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of Automotive Technology. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Overhaul Conventional and Electronic Fuel System Components,
- Perform Engine Tune-up,
- Overhaul Engine,
- Overhaul clutch and Transmissions,
- Maintain Final Drive and Drive Lines,
- Maintain Steering and Suspension System
- Maintain Brake Systems, and
- Maintain Two and Three-Wheeler Vehicle Assemblies
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 4
This program is designed to develop all the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainee who completed the Program will be qualified to work as an Automotive Mechanics Level IV with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic Infrastructure sector in the field of Automotive Technology. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Diagnose engine management systems,
- Diagnose Power train Management System,
- Diagnose under Chassis Management Systems,
- Manage Automotive Workshop and servicing Operations, and
- Prepare Job Estimation and Cost
by the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 5
This program is designed to develop all the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainee who completed the Program will be qualified to work as an Automotive Mechanic Level – V with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Economic Infrastructure sector in the field of Automotive Technology. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Develop and apply vehicle Mechanical System Modifications,
- Develop and apply Vehicle Hydraulic System Modifications,
- Develop and Apply Vehicle Pneumatic System Modifications,
- Perform Accident Analysis & Implement Restoring Options,
- Manage Environmental protection Processes,
- Manage People’s Performance and Relationships,
- Develop Specifications and Documentation, and
- Monitor project Costing System
