Level 1

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation.  The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. The Trainees who complete the Program will be qualified to work as Coffee and Tea Processing Level I with competencies elaborated in the respective OS. Graduates of the program will have the required qualifications to work in the Industrial Technology sector in the field of Coffee and Tea Processing. Graduates are therefore expected to:-

  • Apply code of conducts in tea and coffee Industry
  • Identify Key Characteristics of Coffee and Tea
  • Perform raw coffee bean processing operation
  • Perform basic tea processing operation
  • Perform Stock Control Procedures
  • Apply 5S Procedures

Level 2

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation.  The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. The Trainees who complete the Program will be qualified to work as Coffee and Tea Processing Level II with competencies elaborated in the respective OS. Graduates of the program will have the required qualifications to work in the Industrial Technology sector in the field of Coffee and Tea Processing. Graduates are therefore expected to:-

  • Implement the food safety program and procedures
  • Handle processed tea
  • Manufacture Coffee
  • Manufacture Tea
  • Handle processed coffee
  • Prevent and Eliminate MUDA

Level 3

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation.  The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. The Trainees who complete the Program will be qualified to work as Coffee and Tea Processing Level III with competencies elaborated in the respective OS. Graduates of the program will have the required qualifications to work in the Industrial Technology sector in the field of Coffee and Tea Processing. Graduates are therefore expected to:-

  • Plan and Monitor Implementation of Work / Activities
  • Evaluate & Control Food Safety Hazards
  • Control contaminants and allergens in tea and coffee production
  • Perform the Withering tea Process
  • Operate Rolling and Cutting tea Process
  • Perform tea Fermentation Process
  • Perform tea Drying Operation
  • Perform Sorting and Grading of Made Tea
  • Prepare Labeling Process operation for Coffee and Tea
  • Identify Physical & Chemical Properties of Materials, tea and coffee
  • Perform sensory tests in coffee and Tea
  • Apply Stock Control Procedures

Level 4

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation.  The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard. The Trainees who complete the Program will be qualified to work as Coffee and Tea Processing Level IV with competencies elaborated in the respective OS. Graduates of the program will have the required qualifications to work in the Industrial Technology sector in the field of Coffee and Tea Processing. Graduates are therefore expected to:-

  • Implement & Monitor Environmentally Sustainable Work Practices
  • Apply Coffee and Tea Processing Techniques and Engineering Principles
  • Monitor the development and implementation of the Coffee and Tea QA system
  • Apply Sensory Analysis in Coffee and Tea Processing
  • Identify Cultural, and Dietary Considerations for Coffee and Tea
  • Conduct Coffee and Tea Safety Audits
  • Manufacture instant coffee
  • Apply the Principles of Nutrition to Food Processing
