Level 1
This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainee who successfully completes the program will be qualified to work as a Machinist with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of Machining. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Test and Identify Properties of Metals,
- Perform Bench Work,
- Draw and Interpret drawing,
- Perform Hand Forging,Cut, and Join Sheet Metal,
- Perform General Workshop Machinery,
- Apply Basic Electrical Practices, and
- Perform flame Cutting and welding
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 2
The Program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainees who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as a machinist with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of Machining. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Prepare Basic Engineering Drawings,
- Perform CAD Operation, Maintain Tools and Equipment,
- Perform Intermediate Lathe Operations,
- Perform Intermediate Milling Operations,
- Perform Intermediate Grinding operations,
- Perform machining operations using horizontal and vertical boring, and
- Perform precision shaping/planning/slotting operations
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 3
This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainees who successfully completed the program will be qualified to work as a machinist with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of Machining. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.

- Supervise Detail Drafting Drawing,
- Supervise CIM Production Operations,
- Develop and Manufacture Precision Models,
- Perform Advanced Machine/Process Operations,
- Perform Multiple Spindle and/or Multiple Axis NC/CNC Machining,
- Manufacture Advance Press Tools, die, and Moulds
- Manage Product Cost Estimation and Bill of Materials, and
- Perform Process Planning and Production Scheduling
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 4
This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

- Manage a Value Chain
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
