Level 1

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

The trainee who successfully completes the Program will be qualified to work as a Mechanics with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of mechanics. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Interpret Drawings and Sketches,
  • Identify Properties of Metals,
  • Perform Bench Work, Cut, and Join Sheet Metal,
  • Operate Basic Workshop Machinery,
  • Perform Hand Forging,
  • Perform welding and Cutting Using Oxyacetylene,
  • Perform Routine Metal Arc Welding,
  • Apply Basic Electrical Practices, and
  • Apply 5S Procedures

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 2

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

The trainees who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as a mechanics with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of mechanics. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competences specified in the OS.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Prepare drawings for fabricated sheet metal products ,
  • Perform CAD Operation,
  • Maintain and Repair Tools, Equipment, and mechanical machine drive,
  • Perform Fillet Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW),
  • Carry out Heat Treatment,
  • Perform Hammer Forging,
  • Perform basic foundry,
  • Perform Equipment/Machine Layout,
  • Setting and Leveling,
  • Install and Maintain Fluid Power Pipes and Tubes, and
  • Prevent and Eliminate MUDA

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 3

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

The trainee who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as a mechanics with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of mechanics. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competences specified in the OS.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • Perform Engineering Detail Drafting by using CAD,
  • Perform Geometric Development,
  • Perform Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW),
  • Perform Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW),
  • Perform Manual and precisions Assembly,
  • Perform Machine, and equipment Plant Installation and commission,
  • Maintain and Repair Industrial Electrical Machines drive and Components,
  • Install and Maintain Basic Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems,
  • Install Electrical Measuring Instruments, and
  • Control Devices and Apply protective coatings

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 4

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

The trainees who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as a mechanics with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.

Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of mechanics.The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competences specified in the OS.

Graduates are therefore expected to:

  • plan and organize work,
  • install and commission equipment and machineries,
  • estimate manufacturing and maintenance cost,
  • supervise and guide Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) production Operations,
  • check advanced mneumatic and hydraulic system,
  • perform automated thermal cutting,
  • perform brazing and silver soldering,
  • prepare and produce specialized coatings procedures

in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.

Level 5

This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
