Level 1
This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The trainee who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as a Welder with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of Welding. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Interpret Drawings and Sketches,
- Identify Properties of Metals,
- Apply Basic Electrical Practices, Perform Bench Work,
- Perform Hand Forging, and
- Perform Routine Metal Arc Welding and Cut and Join Sheet Metal
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 2
This program is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.
The Trainees who successfully completed the Program will be qualified to work as a Welder with competencies elaborated in the respective OS.
Graduates of the program will have the required qualification to work in the Industry sector in the field of Welding. The prime objective of this training program is to equip the Trainees with the identified competencies specified in the OS.
Graduates are therefore expected to:
- Prepare Basic (2D) Engineering Drawing Using CAD ,
- Perform Fillet Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW),
- Perform Fillet Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW),
- Perform Fillet Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding,
- Perform Thermal Cutting, and
- Maintain Welding Tools and Equipment’s
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
Level 3
This rogram is designed to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of the trainees to the standard required by the occupation. The contents of this program are in line with the occupational standard.

- Supervise Metallurgy Principles,
- Manage Product Cost Estimation and Bill of Materials,
- Supervise Welding Codes and Principles,
- Perform High-Reliability Soldering and Desoldering,
- Perform Brazing and Silver Soldering,
- Supervise CIM Production Operations, and
- Develop conceptual models and prototype
in accordance with the performance criteria and evidence guide described in the OS.
